Below are some frequently asked questions, feel free to contact us if you can’t find your answer!

How long does it take to make a candle?

The time it takes to create a candle depends on how busy our shop is and how decisive you are! Your first visit with us may take up to 90 minutes, but many groups are in and out within an hour. If you are in a rush, certainly let our Candle Specialists know, they will be more than happy to expedite the process while still providing a personal and precise experience. Please note that your candle will need to cool for 2 hours prior to pick up.

How much does it cost to make a candle?

Our pricing is dependent on the vessel you choose for your custom candle. Currently, our custom candles start at $20; this includes the cost of the candle and the entire experience! Interested in a flameless option? We offer custom wax melts at a rate of $6 if you purchase a custom candle! Don’t have time today to make a custom candle? No problem! Stop in and pick up a premade candle starting at only $15!

What can I do while my candle is cooling?

Because we are conveniently located in historic Downtown Lafayette, IN, there are an abundance of things to do during the 2 hours that your candles are cooling! Check out Home of Purdue’s website for a list of shops, restaurants, experiences and more in the Downtown area!

Are walk-ins welcome?

Scheduling online is best for your user experience, ensuring you will have a table when you’re ready for it, but we absolutely welcome any walk-in clients.

Are there any age restrictions?

We are pleased to offer custom candle experiences to any of our guests, even the little ones! Our Candle Specialists are happy to assist anyone who needs a helping hand throughout the process.

How far in advance can I book?

Currently we take reservations up to 60 days in advance online! If you wish to book a party farther in advance, please call us during store hours at (765) 428-1166, or email us at anytime with additional information.

How do I book a larger group or private party?

Our shop features a large, private party room for your convenience! This room can seat up to 14 guests and can be decorated by you for your party! If you wish to book our private room, or have a party larger than 6, please call us during store hours at (765) 428-1166 or email us at anytime! 

I have completely burned my candle! What's next?

We are pleased to offer a “Reuse your Vessel” program! Bring back your empty candle vessel and our Candle Specialists will melt down any remaining wax, clean your vessel, and replace your wick. You will then continue through the custom candle experience! This program allows us to charge a cost by the ounce and prevent one less candle vessel in the trash! You may reuse your vessel up until our staff believes it would no longer be safe under high temperatures due to imperfections or cracks.

What kind of wax is used?

Our shop uses an all-natural soy wax for our candles and wax melts! Soy wax provides a clean burn, does not expel toxic vapors like many petroleum-based candles do, and is a renewable source! Soy wax can sometimes cause an uneven finish on the top of your candle, but no worries, this does not change the quality of your candle!

What kind of scent oil is used?

We use aromatic fragrance oils that are sure to blend wonderfully with each other! The oils are a combination of both synthetic and natural components. If you have any known allergies to common scents, please inform our Candle Specialists prior to your party starting. 

Do you offer any food or beverages? Can I bring my own?

At this time we offer a variety of non-alcoholic beverages for your enjoyment! We do not, unfortunately, offer food. You are more than welcome to provide your own non-alcoholic beverages, but we do not recommend you eat during the custom candle making process.

What if I don't like my chosen scents?

Our Candle Specialists will try their best to pair you with your ideal scents. If you dislike a scent or your combined scents, do not hesitate to inform your Candle Specialist!

Our Candle Specialists will be sure to not let you leave with a candle you are not happy with. We are more than happy to let you start over with your scents up until you combine your scent oil and wax together!

How can I decide between so many scents?

It can be overwhelming choosing between over 80 scents! Luckily, our Candle Specialists are trained to offer suggestions based on the scents that YOU like! Our biggest suggestion to our guests is to take your time, we are here to help!
